I realize this page will mostly be useful just to my Mom. My roommates might find it useful on occaision, but I doubt they would check the internet for such a thing. All of these are DVDs and most are Widescreen (where applicable).
- 12 Monkeys Special Edition - Gilliam collection. Twisted noir sci-fi film. One of Bruce Willis' best performances, and IMO Brad Pitt's best performance.
- Adaptation - Kaufman collection. Interesting meta-film.
- The Adventures of Baron Munchausen - Gilliam collection. Unique fantasy, fairy tale work with a python-esque humour.
- Back to the Future Trilogy - One of my favorite trilogies; just great sci-fi.
- Babylon 5 - JMS collection. Babylon 5 tells the story of the last of the Babylon stations. Its 5 year story arc is one of the best ever shown on television. Empires rise and fall, "human" drama connects and binds the characters, and decisions have consequences and repercussions.
- Barton Fink - Coen collection. Twisted tale of a 1940s era New York playwright struggling to make it in Hollywood.
- Being John Malkovich - Kaufman collection.
- The Big Lebowski - Coen collection. Simple stoner story with a heart and a style all its own.
- Big Trouble - Barry collection. Dave Barry's first fictional novel. The movie was killed by including a satire of airport security and then being released a couple months too late. Obviously, the book was better, but this one (forgiving the airport security satire) is still funny.
- Blazing Saddles - Brooks collection. Classic western send-up.
- The Brak Show Season 1 Box Set - [Adult Swim]. Equal parts crappy space villain showcase, crappy television sit-com satire, and weird musical numbers.
- Brazil - Gilliam collection. The movie the studio tried to destroy. Think Gilliam's 1984 meets OfficeSpace.
- Confessions of a Dangerous Mind - Kaufman collection; Rockwell collection. The unauthorized biography film of Chuck Barris.
- Crusade: The Complete Series Box Set - JMS collection. The sequel show to Babylon 5 that was killed before it was even aired. Great potential from a great cast, but not given the chance it needed to shine.
- Death to Smoochy - Stewart collection. DeVito-directed look at the sleaze and shill beneath the surface of children's television.
- Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb - Classic Cold War dark comedy.
- The Emperor's New Groove - Most sarcastic film to escape Disney Animation.
- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Kaufman collection. Beautiful film of love and sci-fi memory loss.
- Fargo - Coen collection. Nothing happens in Minnesota, eh?
- Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars - Bold sci-fi.
- The Fifth Element - Weird French sci-fi.
- Firefly: The Complete Series Box Set - Something like the Joss Whedon Crusade. Great cast, great potential, some awesome sci-fi western episodes. Ends right about when you can't get enough and need more.
- GalaxyQuest - Rockwell collection. Best sci-fi satire film... simultaneously mocks and homages Star Trek.
- Ghostbusters
- Ghostbusters 2
- Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law Season 1 Box Set - [Adult Swim]. Smartest of the 15-Minute [as] mini-shows. Old Hanna-Barbera characters have one (bird) man to turn to to defend them in court.
- Home Movies - [Adult Swim].
- Home Movies Season 1 Box Set
- Home Movies Season 2 Box Set
- The Hudsucker Proxy - Coen collection. Art deco world of corporate machinations. Homages to Brazil and His Girl Friday. Sam Raimi has a co-writing credit and Bruce Campbell makes an appearance, making this movie (apparently) intentionally the biggest budget B-movie ever made.
- Human Nature - Kaufman collection. Interesting film that questions the nature of civilization.
- In Like Flint - Classic spy film spoof
- Matchstick Men - Rockwell collection.
- Miller's Crossing - Coen collection. Prohibition era gangster film.
- Minority Report - PKD collection.
- Modesty Blaise - Crappy spy film I got free with the Flint movies.
- Monty Python and the Holy Grail
- Monty Python's Meaning of Life - Gilliam collection. The first portion of this ("The Crimson Permanent Assurance"), directed by Gilliam, exhibits Gilliam's signature weird style.
- O Brother, Where Art Thou? - Coen collection.
- OfficeSpace - Classic of life in the cubicle farm.
- Our Man Flint - Classic spy film spoof
- Paycheck - PKD collection.
- Pulp Fiction - Tarantino collection.
- Red Dwarf - Classic British television show. One man, a hologram of his old roommate, a humanoid evolved from his cat, and the ship computer adventure.
- Red Dwarf Series 1
- Red Dwarf Series 2
- Reservoir Dogs - Tarantino collection.
- The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror
- Solaris - Based on a book by Stanislaw Lem.
- Spaceballs - Brooks collection. Classic sci-fi satire.
- This is Spinal Tap - The best rockumentary ever.
- Time Bandits - Gilliam collection. Goofy kid's film with a weird style and sense of humor.
- Tron - Yeah, I'm a computer nerd.
- Young Frankenstein - Brooks collection. Classic horror satire.
- The Whole Nine Yards - Decent comedy with Bruce Willis.
